OLD STORIES - New Works by Cyrus Walker: Artist Reception Friday June 11th 5-7

June 1 - 14, 2021

This new body of work from Cyrus Walker features his signature bold style with special attention to color and concept.

The paintings have a pulp western style to them that Cyrus carefully created by layering each color one at a time reminiscent of an old printing press.

The Idea of this work is to capture the narrative aspects of the classic American West as told by old pulp novels that intrigued and captivated readers by their wild tales of the west. Tall tales and old stories of the west are timeless stories of human nature that exist in every culture. Cyrus takes liberties with the narrative and is known to incorporate themes from other prominent genres of storytelling.
