*Tyrone turquoise is mined outside of silver city in the southwest region of new Mexico. As with many turquoise mines, its original purpose was mining copper and turquoise was the secondary mineral found in the mine. Due to numerous circumstances with the current owners of the mine, Tyrone has not been mined since the 1980’s making it not only beautiful, but also one of the more rare turquoise gemstones.
