Ruth Stanley, born and raised in New Zealand, immigrated at sixteen to the North Shore of Hawaii and eventually set roots on 15 acres in Black Forest, Colorado.
An avid collector of everything textile and an imagination to create something out of it, “Cut it up!” was ringing in Stanley’s ears. Armed with a pair of scissors and several industrial sewing machines, Ruth decided to start up The Wooley Kiwi. Bespoke bags are created out of her Sewing Shed from the collected vintage tapestries, kilim rugs, leather, tooled belts, cowboy boots, and much more.
“I love the idea of people packing their bags and heading off for grand adventures. The weekend bags are perfect for…chuck it in and let’s go!”
